Hello MTN Mobile Money Support Team,
We are building a property marketplace platform in Cameroon where we have two types of users:
- Buyers
- Property Owners / Sellers
We would like to integrate MTN Mobile Money into our platform.
Our expected payment flow is:
- A buyer makes payment using MTN Mobile Money
- The payment is automatically split
- The property owner receives their amount directly in their MTN Mobile Money account
- The admin/platform commission is transferred directly to the admin MTN account
Example:
- Buyer pays 100,000 FCFA using MTN MoMo
- Property owner receives 90,000 FCFA in MTN
- Admin/platform receives 10,000 FCFA in MTN
We specifically want the payment and payout flow to stay within the MTN ecosystem only.
We would like clarification on the following points:
- Is split payment / marketplace settlement supported by MTN Mobile Money?
- Can one payment be automatically split between:
- Property owner MTN wallet
- Admin/platform MTN wallet
- Does the platform/admin require a merchant account?
- Does each property owner also require:
- Merchant account?
- KYC verification?
- What are the current transaction fees in Cameroon for:
- Payment collection
- Payout/disbursement
- Split payment transactions
- Are there any additional fees for marketplace settlement?
- Can payouts be restricted to MTN Mobile Money accounts only?
- What happens if the destination wallet is not an MTN wallet?
- Does MTN automatically block cross-platform payouts?
- What happens if one side of the split payout fails?
- Are there any marketplace compliance or approval requirements for this business model in Cameroon?
- How long does settlement usually take?
We have already reviewed the developer documentation and sandbox environment, but we would appreciate clarification specifically regarding marketplace split payments and operational requirements.
Looking forward to your response.
Thank you.
